Our Customers

Foundation East’s business loan customers might be sole traders, limited companies, social enterprises or voluntary organisations.

There are many people with good business ideas or established businesses who are unable to access mainstream finance. The reasons why banks don't serve these customers include lack of a trading history, a poor credit history or a lack of assets to use as security.

Many voluntary organisations are in the process of developing social enterprises - non-profit businesses - and these have specific needs and legal structures that mean they can have difficulty securing much-needed finance from mainstream banks.

Our job is to lend money to enable businesses to expand and thrive, to provide services and employment.
