Support

Foundation East is a founding member of the National CLT Network and operates as a regional support body for local groups that are seeking to advance CLT projects in the East of England.

Introductory advice and informal guidance is provided at no cost, as Foundation East is sensitive to the financial constraints of embryonic community organisations. As projects develop, consultancy fees are charged for more technical expertise and professional development services and these fees help to sustain the charitable work of Foundation East. Fees are agreed in advance on a case-by case basis and grants may be available to cover them.

Typical support services might include:

·          Initial set-up advice and signposting to information and potential sources of funding;
·          Community-led planning activities such as participatory design workshops or ‘visioning’ events;
·          Project feasibility studies and development appraisals;
·          Developing project briefs and appointment / management of a design team;
·          Design, procurement and tendering advice;
·          Site finding, valuation advice and property / land acquisition;
·          Specialist reports, preparation of planning applications and negotiation of planning permissions;
·          Arranging partnering agreements with sympathetic organisations, landowners and developers.
