Finalists Announced in Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards
Our clients, Mona Shah and Shaz Shah of Harry Specters, receiving their Social Enterprise of the Year Award at the 2018 Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards
The finalists for the 2019 Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards have been revealed and we are proud to announce that this year we have two clients that have been shortlisted for awards. BeeBee Wraps, a social enterprise that manufactures organic cotton and reusable and compostable food wraps, is nominated for the Sustainability Award and Fabio and Hannah Vincenti of Fabio's Gelato, an Italian style dessert parlour in Hitchin, are nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award.
At the 2018 Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards, our client Harry Specters was nominated for and won the Social Enterprise of the Year Award and they got some great resulting press and media coverage really highlighting the great work they do and in particular their social impact. As the Citi Awards celebrate Responsible Finance Providers and those that have accessed responsible finance, they provide a great platform for showcasing the work that the responsible finance industry does in supporting businesses who may otherwise have been unable to access mainstream finance.
The Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards are a global financial inclusion initiative that were launched in 2005 and are now the annual celebration of Britain's microentrepreneurs who have accessed responsible business finance. Established by the Citi Foundation, the awards celebrate the best of Britain's microentrepreneurs and the best of the responsible finance industry with awards for not only businesses but also the Responsible Finance Providers that have supported them.
The 2019 Citi Microentrepreneurship Award finalists were all nominated by Responsible Finance members and a shortlist of twelve micro and social enterprises has been created covering four award categories which recognise growth, environmental sustainability, social or environmental impact and the young microentrepreneur of the year.
Responsible Finance Providers have also been shortlisted for two separate awards in categories recognising impact and resilience, and two awards recognising staff in the responsible finance leader of the year and outstanding loan officer awards.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 13th March 2019.
