Suffolk's Most Inspiring Women

14th November 2018 By Foundation East in News

A special edition publication has been created celebrating the inspiring women of Suffolk, to mark the significance of 2018 being 100 years since the 1918 Representation of the People Act, which gave some women the right to vote.

Included among Suffolk's inspiring women is Foundation East's own Chief Executive Katy Ford.

Media group Archant have created the publication which celebrates some of the inspirational, influential women who make Suffolk a great place to live and work.

We are very proud of Katy and for her to be not only nominated but chosen by a judging panel as one of the most inspiring women in the region is testament to her hard work and determination that we witness on a daily basis.

It is also rather apt that Katy has been included in this special edition publication as the theme for our recently published 2017/18 Annual Review was celebrating 100 years of women's suffrage. As well as celebrating all of the female entrepreneurs we have lent to we also highlight the fact that 40% of our lending goes to women-led businesses, a figure well above industry averages, and have launched a Loans for Women campaign using #loansforwomen to spread the word about the great work we are doing in promoting and providing inclusivity through delivery of our services and products.

You can read about all 100 of Suffolk's most inspirational women here.

Check out our 2017/18 Annual Review which was also inspired by the 100 year anniversary of women first getting the right to vote.

Don't forget that you can support the great work that we are doing in the East of England by investing in Foundation East membership shares.
